Why Foster?

Reason Number 389:

Because even after all of this,

it is still worth it.

Because even with all of the challenges we will

still do everything in our power to make sure the boys

know that we will always love them.

Because even after all of the unknown, and the hurt

it is worth every tear.

Because even the hard goodbyes only mean

we’ve loved each other well.

Because it is worth it.

And they are worth it.

And even when things get really tough, and you can’t really

remember why you do all of this,

God whispers in my heart,

There are more.

And they need you.

And they need to know my love.

And it is worth it.

  2. We're new to this journey, just starting. I appreciate these posts so much.
I've already been told to not do foster to adopt by adoptive mom's whom I thought would support us on our journey regardless of how we grew our family. Nice to hear that there are people, like you, that think it is still worth it even with the pain and trouble that come with it.

  3. There is a line from a song by The Fray that pops into my mind often, "Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same." It's been said in other contexts but for some reason that phrasing sticks with me. You've done the hardest thing, and I'm sure it's the right thing too. (((hugs)))

  5. it is hard to explain to people who don't get it, but even through the pain you know you are doing exactly what you are meant to do and that the kids make it all worth it!

you will laugh when you read my latest post...we are thinking the same way again.

  6. So well said. So cool that you are following God's calling for you and saying "yes" to Him even when it's tough.

  8. I really needed to read this right now. We've been really struggling with our 9 y/o foster son's behavior the past few days. I need the reminder sometimes that it's worth it. I know most of the time that it is - It's changed my life so much for the better. But it's hard to remember sometimes
